The most common areas we encounter that require specialist leak detection and investigation include leaks from showers, bathrooms, balconies, roofs, windows, and building facades. Some of the many causes of these leaks include defects in waterproofing membrane failure, poor sealing around windows, doors or expansion joints, roofing and poor installation of building paper and flashings.
Often a suspected water leak can lead to an unexpected and increasingly common culprit: condensation. Condensation can be a major problem causing water damage to property and mould build up which can cause serious problems for your health. We have seen mould in new homes prior to handover from builders and buildings less than 10years old condemned due to mould caused by condensation, so this is not a problem restricted to older buildings.
